Remember to spritz each layer of set soap lightly with rubbing alcohol before pouring the next layer. This helps the layers bond as they harden.

  1. Make the aqua base
    • Melt 240g clear and 30g white soap bases together.
    • Dissolve 2 tiny spoons of aqua mica in rubbing alcohol and stir it in.
    • Add 7 drops lemongrass essential oil.
  2. Create the first embeds
    • Pour the aqua soap into the mold and let it set.
    • Remove it and cut it into angled pieces.
    • Dust the pieces with gold mica powder (optional — it can look nicer without).
  3. Build the aqua layer
    • Place the chopped aqua pieces back into the mold along with a few thin white strips.
    • Melt and pour the remaining aqua soap over them.
    • If you don’t have enough, mix 1 part white : 2 parts clear soap base with 1 tiny spoon aqua mica to make more.
    • Set the mold on an angle and let it begin to firm up.
    • As it sets, use a spoon to create a bumpy surface.
  4. Add the black layer
    • Melt 50g clear soap base and mix in black mica or charcoal dissolved in rubbing alcohol.
    • Pour this black soap over the aqua layer, letting it cover unevenly.
    • Create bumps again as it cools.
  5. Prepare the white embeds
    • Chop 250g white soap base into angled pieces.
    • Dust some of them with black mica or charcoal powder.
  6. Finish the white layer
    • Add the black-coated white pieces into the mold on top of the black layer.
    • Melt and pour the remaining white soap base over everything.
  7. Set and slice
    • Let the entire block set completely.
    • Remove from the mold and slice into bars.
