Cabbage Tuna Salad – Easy Tasty Japanese Recipe

This is one of those quick, no-fuss recipes I make when I want something simple but still a little nourishing. It’s mainly just cabbage and tuna, but together they make a surprisingly satisfying snack or light meal. It takes just a few minutes and a quick nuke in the microwave.

Ingredients

  • Cabbage … 250g
  • Canned tuna … 90g, drained
  • Roasted sesame seeds … 1Tbsp
  • Weipa (Chinese style stock powder or paste) … 1tsp
  • Soy sauce … 1tsp
  • Sesame oil … 1tsp
  • Garlic (paste tube, grated, or powder) … 1tsp
  • Cracked pepper … to taste

How to make

  1. Shred the cabbage (with a 1mm slicer) and microwave for 1 minute. Give it a stir, then microwave for another minute.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
