Bead Aligner: Making Perler art faster & easier

One of the biggest frustrations I had with Perler bead art was how slow and tedious it was to pick up the beads. It made the process feel more like a chore than a creative hobby. So, I decided to make my own Perler bead aligner tool to make things easier and faster.

What it solves

I needed the bead aligner to:

  • Make picking up beads effortless – even two at a time!
  • Release excess beads – so they don’t get in the way.
  • Speed up the process – no more struggling to grab beads.
  • Reduce frustration – so I can focus on creating, not fumbling.

Prototypes

Here’s a look at the early versions of my bead aligner. After testing different shapes and designs, I found the best way to ensure beads align quickly and stay easy to pick up.

The final version aligns up to 100 beads and fits comfortably in one hand.

Features & Benefits:

Shake to Align – A quick shake is all it takes to neatly line up the beads—no more fumbling or sorting!

Video showcase

The first time I tried it, I managed to fill all 100 slots—what a lucky start! 🙌

This one is probably more realistic as I miss a few slots – although I didn’t need to shake it for that long 😂

Where to buy

You can buy one from my 3D printing partner’s eBay Australia store.

Or if you have a 3D printer, you can print some for personal use:
